:: Matthew Agnew - cello
A most accomplished musician, Matthew Agnew began cello lessons at the age of four in Okemos, Michigan. He studied cello performance at DePaul University with William Cernota of the Lyric Opera of Chicago and holds a Bachelor of Music from DePaul University. After subbing with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and other area orchestras, he won the principal cello position with the Elgin Symphony Orchestra. A busy freelancer and studio musician, Matthew has performed and recorded with ensembles ranging from classical to jazz; rock to new age. He has been on stage with many artists including The Dixie Chicks, Shania Twain and Luther Vandross just to name a few. Matthew has been performing with Rene for seven years and is featured on Rene's latest recording, SOULMATES.
