Take one artist who plays the piano as if his fingers are attached to his heart;
and give that artist the ability to compose sweet, meditative and emotional music---
and you have the recipe for an amazing album.
Poet of the Heart is that album and Rene is the reason it is so wonderful. Here
is music that can transport the heaviest heart or the dourest personality...to a
place of warmth and joy. There are ten songs on Poet of the Heart and eight of them
are composed by Rene. The other, Ave Maria by Gounod is played marvelously as the sixth
selection and reprised as the tenth.
Each song is crafted as Michaelangelo sculpted---note by note until the notes become a
magnificent musical tribute to humankind. This work of art is enhanced
by the superb assistance of Eric Remschneider on the cello. The end result is an album that
soothes, calms, enlightens and brightens.
Rene has studied music since he was five years old. The last 33 years (and three albums)
he has played every kind of music and has learned the relationship of his glorious melodies
and his instrumentation. The conclusion is a marriage based on love and, I'm sure, a gift
from god.
If you've been looking for something truly special for your musical collection...look no more.
Poet of the Heart is an absolute delight. It will move you, embrace you and reawaken you to all
that humankind can be. Rene has given us a celebration of spirit!

When two lovers meet who are no longer able to handle their longing for one another, they look
into each other's eyes and time slows and momentarily stops; a new feeling of being one with
the world arises in this stream of fond caresses and Eternity is theirs. They will never be the
same again because their fate is to go out of this stream being changed, vitalized.
Love melts those who love into one another - it refreshes, cleanses them - and a new quality
arises in their lives. This is the way of beloved ones; the divine comes to them...
Rene's music is full of love and embodied within are all the elements of it. There is fondness
and the miracle of the first, yet laced with humble kisses. There is the sadness of departing and
the joy of meeting. There is the triumph of passion and pacified bliss as when you awaken in the early
light to see your beloved near you, quietly slumbering after the volcanic night. There is the delight
of fervent embraces and the happiness that goes with living life together, caring for one another.
The entire palette of the loving experience can be found in Rene's diverse and remarkably harmonic
album. Rene's melodic piano is enriched by Eric Remschneider's sensitive and lyrical cello.
Rene's melodies are so extraordinarily light and airy that the listener feels awareness of being
comfortable. His very poetical album allows one to dream about things that are lofty and bright.
This is the music of a person who is able to stay open to deep feelings and enjoy life in a world
that is too often unfeeling. How did he manage?
Listen to Poet of the Heart and you will understand the meaning of "music with an open heart".

The third CD from noted Chicagoland composer/performer Rene starts with the
beautiful piano piece "Joie De Vivre", enlightening the listener they are in
for a real musical treat. With this more classically inspired work, Rene has
polished his craft to shine while breathing heartfelt emotions and feelings
into the compostiions. The CD's title is very apt as the music flows from Rene's
heart and soul. The dramatic intensity of "A Hero's Tale" is laced with uplifting
auras that tell the story through Rene's balletic fingers. In his interpretation
of Bach's "Ave Maria", the excellent cello playing of Eric Remschneider (Elgin
Symphony, Smashing Pumpkins) is allowed to come to the foreground from the wonderful
background embellishments it provides on most of the CD. "Pax Vobiscum" is a sweeping
new age-hued tune, while "First Romance" is a slightly lively but thoroughly
enjoyable piece, indicative of the level of musical mastery that Rene has achieved.
His extreme passion is evident from start to finish, and any lover of wonderful piano
work is sure to savor "Poet Of The Heart" like a fine wine.
